Job Description

We are actively searching for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to enhance our Data Engineering team at Merkle. Ideal candidates will be versed in modern data platform architectures, possess solid software development skills, and have experience tackling complex technical challenges. This role involves:

  • Developing robust data solutions that meet client needs.
  • Working collaboratively with both local leadership and global teams to integrate industry-leading practices and insights into client projects.
  • Supporting Data Scientists and Analytical Consultants in project execution.
  • Delivering technical expertise and consultation to demystify big data analytics for clients.

Qualifications

Prospective candidates should have:

  • Proven experience in cloud-based solutions, particularly on Google Cloud Platform or Azure.
  • Ability to produce high-quality software using Python, with a focus on optimized, reusable code and modern software development practices.
  • Proficiency in modern DevOps methodologies, including version control, CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and containerization with Docker.
  • A robust understanding of data processing concepts like data lakes, data structures, databases (SQL and noSQL), and data partitioning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and drive project requirements.
  • Comfort in client interactions and collaboration through various communication tools including email, Microsoft Teams, and direct meetings where necessary.
