We are presently expanding our offerings to include Defence Intelligence by forming an Intelligence and Data Systems Team. As part of this role, you will create enterprise-wide innovative solutions catering to the UK Defence Intelligence community, keeping up with the continually changing global environment. Our objective is to grow our UK Defence Intelligence portfolio and enable UK Defence to fully utilise the power of their data, ensuring its potential is optimally utilized. As a Senior Data Architect, you will be tasked with transforming Defence Intelligence requirements into technical specifications, guaranteeing that the data architecture is scalable, secure, and adaptable to emerging trends. By closely collaborating with Defence clients, you will play a part in deciding data governance, data quality, and data security policies. Your role’s responsibilities will involve: • Understanding the data requirements of the Intelligence communities and translating them into technical specifications. • Creating and updating data models, metadata systems and data architecture frameworks that adhere to predetermined UK standards and accepted ontologies. • Establishing the Defence Intelligence data governance, data quality and data security, complying with wider UK Defence and international partner policies. • Devising guidelines for data integration, data storage, and data cleansing. • Designing scalable and secure data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes. • Leading the development and implementation of data-driven solutions meeting the prioritized multi-disciplined Intelligence requirements. • Ensuring adherence to data standards and best practices, including data quality, completeness, and accuracy. • Assuring the core architecture can interact with all information data feeds, considering the impact of a single Intelligence Environment on the larger community. • Staying updated on industry, UK Government and Defence trends and best practices. • Assisting the team leader in identifying and securing new business and enhancing our team and capability. Requirements Essential • Track record as an effective Data Architect, emphasizing data modelling, data architecture, and data governance. • Solid understanding of database technology, data warehousing, data marts, and data lakes. • Familiarity with a variety of tools for storing and managing metadata. • Proficiency in project management skills with experience in leading data projects. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the aptitude to communicate intricate data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Desirable • Awareness of Government and Defence-approved data modelling patterns and standards. • Familiarity with the Defence Intelligence context and the Defence 2030 vision. Given the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy conducts, candidates for this role will be subject to pre-employment screening and must fulfill DV clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
