About the Role: Senior Data Engineer

Join our technology powerhouse in Kuala Lumpur, where we drive innovation in a fast-paced and challenging environment. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will support our data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, providing maintainable infrastructure and tools to deliver end-to-end solutions. You will work with large-scale data across multiple products and stakeholders in the US, KL, and Armenia, designing and implementing analytical environments using Python and/or Java to automate data activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, operate, and improve the analytics platform
• Create data solutions using big data technologies and low latency architectures
• Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, product managers, software engineers, and other data engineers
• Maintain the data warehouse with timely and quality data
• Build and maintain data pipelines from internal databases and SaaS applications
• Implement data engineering best practices
• Improve, manage, and teach standards for code maintainability and performance
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

Qualifications:

• Expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
• Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestrators
• Knowledge of distributed computing principles
• Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Delta Lake, or others
• Proven ability to innovate and deliver complex solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Qualifications:

• Authority in ETL optimization, designing, coding, and tuning big data processes using Spark
• Knowledge of big data architecture concepts like Lambda or Kappa
• Experience with streaming workflows for low latency processes
• Experience in managing data quality, tracking lineage, and improving data discovery
• Proficiency in distributed systems for high-level data structures
• Familiarity with AWS is a plus
• Experience in task planning, prioritization, and execution oversight
