THE ROLE We are searching for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer, with strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our Data Engineering team, reporting to our Data Engineering Lead. The ideal candidate will be tasked with designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure on GCP, ensuring high performance and availability of our data systems to scale at Zoomo. The candidate will work with our Analytics team as well as cross-functional stakeholders to help build our data warehouse and associated ELT. We are heavily investing in expanding our data and analytics function, and you will have the chance to design and build the core components of this system, which will scale as the company grows. RESPONSIBILITIES - Designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines - Expanding API integrations to manage increasing data volume and complexity. - Collaborating with the data and analytics team to improve the functionality of our data systems. - Working with various teams, including Software, Product, Operation, and Finance teams to address data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. - Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers, ensuring high team performance. - Ensuring high quality in documentation to effectively support application management. Requirements We are looking for an experienced data engineer who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. You will work alongside our engineers, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives. You must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products, and excited about the prospect of optimizing or redesigning our company’s data architecture and applications running on it to support our next generation of products and data initiatives. - Experience designing and implementing complex high throughput distributed batch and/or real-time solutions using Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Run, App Engine, Firestore. - Strong programming skills in Python, SQL skills for data analysis and reporting. - Proven experience working with APIs and Webhooks. - GCP certification is highly desirable. - Experience deploying cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or similar - Experience working in an Agile development environment QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field - 5+ years experience with at least 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, focused on data processing and analysis. - Proven ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines - Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines - Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with various databases - Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement - Strong project management and organizational skills supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE - Experience with GCP Benefits We offer you the chance to be part of a team at the cutting edge of the world’s electrification journey, including: - Working with a passionate team that strives to make the streets greener and serve the rider - Competitive salary - Global and country-specific benefits packages - Monthly team outings & events Zoomo currently represents 45 nationalities and we celebrate diversity and inclusion with equal opportunities for all. #LI-REMOTE
