About the Role: Senior Data Engineer

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Engineer at Parexel, you will be instrumental in building and managing data pipelines on the Azure Databricks Platform, ensuring seamless data integration and processing.

Role and Responsibilities

• Utilize Microsoft Azure data PaaS services to design, build, modify, and support data pipelines leveraging DataBricks and PowerBI in a medallion architecture setting.
• Create prototypes when necessary to validate proposed ideas and solicit input from stakeholders.
• Demonstrate expertise in test-driven development and continuous integration processes.
• Convert high-level design to low-level design and implement it.
• Collaborate with Team Leads to define/clarify business requirements, estimate development costs, and finalize work plans.
• Run unit and integration tests throughout the development lifecycle.
• Proactively benchmark application code to prevent performance and scalability concerns.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Team on issue reporting, resolution, and change management.
• Support the Operations Team with any issues during application deployment in Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments.
• Assist other teams in resolving issues related to applications or the integration of multiple components.

Azure Developer Requirements & Skills

• Solid understanding of design concepts and architectural basics.
• Knowledge of performance engineering and quality processes.
• Fundamental understanding of the project domain and estimate methods.
• Ability to transform functional and nonfunctional needs into system requirements.
• Proficiency in developing and coding complex applications.
• Capability to create test cases and scenarios based on specifications.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and agile techniques.
• Stay abreast of current technology and trends.
• Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a capacity to collaborate effectively.

Primary Skills Sought

• Cloud Platform: Azure Developer - Microsoft Azure/PAAS
• Technical Proficiency: SQL, Python
• General Knowledge: PowerApps, Java

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6-10 years of experience in software development with a minimum of 2 years in cloud computing.
