Job Overview: Senior Data Engineer (Glue/ETL/Data Modelling)

We are actively seeking a high-performing Sr Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data Solutions & Engineering team in Corporate IT. This senior technical role involves building, deploying, and supporting data integration for BI reporting, analytic solutions, and application integration. Our evolving team is leading SLF in applying cutting-edge solutions to real business opportunities, utilizing tools like PWC, IICS, and AWS Cloud based data platform for advanced analytics and data science.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance the construction and maintenance of robust, efficient data applications and reusable frameworks.
• Engage in all development cycle phases, from design and development to release planning and implementation.
• Apply best practices in data engineering, including Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization across on-premise and AWS solutions.
• Collaborate with data developers across various locations to ensure code standards, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Develop high-level solution options and detailed work estimates to support project proposals.
• Deliver solutions according to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, adapting to either waterfall or agile projects.
• Manage effective working relationships across departments to coordinate related activities.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing data warehouse and system integration solutions using ETL tools, with demonstrable expertise in AWS GLUE.
• Proven experience with Python and GLUE development frameworks, and data modeling using tools like ERwin or PowerDesigner.
• Strong familiarity with database systems including Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL and expertise in SQL.
• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end data solutions from assessment to visualization.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to adapt challenges into coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with change management processes in production environments.
• Proficiency in project management, SDLC (Agile and Lean), and technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills and analytical capabilities.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Cassandra, Redshift, etc.) is a plus.
