We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Tenet Healthcare. This role is essential for designing, developing, and implementing advanced solutions in our data warehouse to enhance business operations spanning Clinical, Patient Accounting, and Corporate functions. With a primary focus on cloud-based technologies, such as Google Big Query, this position offers the opportunity to significantly impact our high-performance healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble large, complex data sets to meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Design and implement process improvements for infrastructure scalability, data delivery optimization, and manual process automation.
  • Develop and maintain the infrastructure for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading using technologies like GCP and SQL.
  • Create analytical tools to leverage the data pipeline, ensuring actionable insights into key business metrics.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders (Data, Design, Product, Executive teams) to address data-related technical needs and support data infrastructure.
  • Ensure quality and efficiency by participating in unit and system testing, adhering to change control processes, and conducting code reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for improving data integrity, process flows, and overall system performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, relational database design, and big data architectures.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data warehousing solutions like Google Big Query.
  • Experience with big data tools (Kafka, Spark), workflow management (Airflow), and scripting languages (Scala, C++, Java, Python).
  • Background in health information systems, particularly with data integration tools like Cerner, Meditech, or EPIC, is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
