Senior Data Engineer (male/female/diverse)

🧑‍💻 The Role

We are in search of a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. As a Platform team, our mission is to construct reusable data products for our internal stakeholders, the domain engineering teams.

In your role, you will have the unique chance to take the lead on your data projects, manage their implementations as a technical leader, and also contribute individually.

It’s a rare opportunity to partake in both new (greenfield) and existing (brownfield) data projects within a well-established tech company located in the heart of Berlin.

Daily challenges that we tackle (the fun part) 💻

• Overhauling our data & analytics infrastructure
• Designing data models and tweaking data pipelines to ensure the readiness, reliability, and scalability of our data services
• Modernizing our cloud-based data warehouse
• Delivering new analytical data products (such as machine learning and causal inference)
• Enhancing our security, monitoring, and deployment processes
• Implementing more data management technologies and DataOps practices, including cataloging, governance, lineage, and literacy

📚 Your Story

• You have established experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale systems
• You are well-versed with streaming services (like Kafka, PubSub, or similar technologies) and data processing flows (such as Apache Beam, Apache Flink, or related technologies)
• Your experience encompasses pipelining and orchestration (like Airflow, Kubeflow, or similar technologies)
• You have strong experience with provisioning analytics/ML-ready data and are proficient in SQL and Python
• You consider yourself as a do-er with a problem-solving attitude
• You confidently manage complexity (in technology, data, people interaction) with a cheerful demeanor
