The Biz Process Automation team under Platform Biz Intelligence at Coupang contributes to business operation excellence by supporting Data Insight Dashboards and providing Automation Data Tools for manual operations and tasks. Our main clients include Pricing, Platform Management, and Catalog Audit departments. We service retail business data for operations improvements and efficiency enhancements through development projects.

Job Overview

As a Data Engineer in Biz Process Automation at Coupang, you will be actively involved in significant business projects. You will understand and simplify PBS's web-platform and processes to propose architectural-level data solutions from both a business and customer impact perspective.

Collaborating with various stakeholders and Program Managers, you will design data engineering systems, plan deployments, and ensure quality through system monitoring post-development. You will define core data models across various business domains, utilizing distributed processing technologies such as Spark, Streaming, and Hive to design and build stable and consistent data pipelines.

You will also learn essential new technologies in data architecture, big data platforms, storage, and coding standards, leading to the growth of your peers and junior developers throughout the project execution. You will demonstrate ownership over your domain, contribute to maintaining high technical standards, troubleshoot legacy systems, and develop roadmaps for gradual improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with a strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Spark, Hive, particularly in distributed environments for large-scale data processing.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud computing platform and a thorough understanding of scalability and reliability issues.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases like HBase, MongoDB, Dynamo DB, Cassandra.
• Experience in designing and operationally managing data pipelines on cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Service development and operational experience using Airflow, Hive, Hadoop.
• High understanding or experience with CI/CD in MSA environments.
• Experience or high understanding of API failure management or monitoring functionalities.
