About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Capital One, you will be at the forefront of a major transformation, leveraging your expertise in data engineering to solve complex business challenges. This role involves:

• Collaborating with Agile teams to design and implement technical solutions using advanced full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Utilizing programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and working with both Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, as well as cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
• Staying up-to-date with technology trends, experimenting with new technologies, and contributing to the community both internally and externally.
• Driving powerful user experiences through robust, cloud-based solutions that contribute to financial empowerment for millions of Americans.

What We Need From You

To thrive in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in application development (excluding internships)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with big data technologies
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of application development experience using Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
  • 2+ years of public cloud experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with distributed computing tools (Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, etc.) and real-time data streaming applications
  • Experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra) and data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake)
  • Proficiency with UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, and Agile engineering practices

The salary range for this role in New York City (Hybrid On-Site) is $165,100 - $188,500 for Senior Data Engineers. Salaries in other locations are based on local pay rates.
