Job Overview

The AI-Assisted Document Ingestion initiative is a strategic priority for Chubb. We seek an experienced and innovative Senior Data Engineer with a proven track record in data project implementation and automation. The selected candidate will be instrumental in leading the architecture, design, development, and deployment of solutions within the Domain and/or Platform, significantly influencing our strategic direction.

As a passionate technical leader, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in Computer Science fundamentals and have hands-on experience in building scalable, high-performance products. Strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of scalable ingestion solutions in collaboration with system experts and business stakeholders.
• Maintain and create documentation for solution architectures.
• Implement standards and tooling for development teams.
• Translate business requirements into technical implementations.
• Mentor and guide a team of software developers to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
• Act as a technical lead, boosting the efficiency of Platform teams by improving reusable components.
• Engage in continuous learning and research to enhance the technology solutions offered by Chubb.
• Support the professional growth of team members and provide technical leadership and insight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in data science, technology, or related fields within the insurance/financial sectors.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Strong skills in Python and SQL are essential; knowledge of Angular and Java/Spring Boot is advantageous.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a high emotional quotient (EQ).
• Ability to lead and manage multiple global teams effectively.
