What you'll do
- You will maintain the target architecture and reference architectures of our data platform.
- You will constantly survey present and emerging technologies and propose alterations when necessary.
- You will standardize best practices, processes, and architectures for use cases in the data field.
- You will provide guidance, support, and mentoring to Junior Data Engineers and contribute to their technical advancement.
- You will lead projects that enhance our data platform's stability, data quality, and reliability.
- You will closely collaborate with the other Tech teams, our Analytics Engineering team, and BI teams.
- You will master our toolkit, decide how we should use it, and constantly search for enhancements or improvements.
- You will conduct technical pilots as well as proof of concepts to evaluate their benefits. Based on this, you will give recommendations and establish timelines, objectives, and roadmaps for following projects.
- You will lead the design and development of complex data pipelines and processes, ensuring data is gathered, transformed, and loaded correctly and efficiently.
- You will work on solutions to monitor and improve data pipelines and database performance to ensure high-quality data is delivered promptly to end-users.
Who we are looking for
- You have multiple years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Specialist.
- You have experience with cloud services, ideally AWS (knowledge in Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue, etc. would be beneficial).
- You have experience with different tools for ETL processes and process orchestration (preferably Matillion, dbt, Apache Airflow).
- You have worked with message-based integration technologies (like SQS/ SNS).
- You have prior understanding of executing Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi or Terraform.
- You have proven experience with the implementation of data warehousing architectures and layers.
- You have proven experience in delivering solutions from design to production using Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and can breakdown design into meaningful tasks.
- You possess excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
- You have a solid understanding of Data governance practices (GDPR, Ataccama or other RDM tools, …).
- You have a good knowledge of cloud infrastructure virtualization with Kubernetes & Docker.
