What we're looking for: As part of our team, you will be responsible for building and running the data pipelines and services to support business functions/reports/dashboard. We depend heavily on Snowflake, Airflow, Fivetran, dbt, and Looker for our business intelligence and utilize AWS across our engineering teams. As an Analytics Engineer, you'll be: - Developing end-to-end ETL/ELT Pipeline in collaboration with Data Analysts of business Function. - Designing, developing, and implementing scalable, automated data extraction, processing, and analysis processes in a Data Mesh architecture. - Mentoring other Junior Engineers in the team. - Being a “go-to” expert for data technologies and solutions. - Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise. - Looking for ways to improve data pipelines, both in terms of what we deliver and how we deliver it. - Translating business requirements into technical requirements. - Owning the delivery of data models and reports end-to-end. - Performing exploratory data analysis to identify data quality issues early in the process and implementing tests to prevent them in the future. - Collaborating with Data Analysts to optimise data feeds and ensure they are available when needed. - Discovering, transforming, testing, deploying, and documenting data sources. - Applying, defining, and championing data warehouse governance. - Building Looker Dashboard for use cases as required. What makes you a great fit: - A minimum of 5 years of extensive development experience with snowflake or similar data warehouse technology. - Practical experience with dbt and other technologies of the modern data stack, such as Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Fivetran, AWS, git, Looker. - Experience with agile processes. - Advanced SQL statement writing and tuning skills. - Experience with data ingestion techniques using custom or SAAS tools like Fivetran. - Experience in data modelling and ability to optimize existing/new data models. - Experience with data mining, data warehouse solutions, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets. - Experience architecting analytical databases (in Data Mesh architecture) is an added advantage.
