Job Description

Become a critical member of the IT team at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), specifically within our Development team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be pivotal in crafting sophisticated solutions and supporting innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development:

• Exhibit full stack expertise combined with an architectural acumen to develop robust and user-friendly applications.
• Expertise in integrating multiple technologies to ensure seamless application operation.
• Quick adaptation to agile methodologies and an ability to learn on the fly.

Database Management:

• Deep understanding of relational databases and efficient handlings, such as building and managing functional databases.
• Implement design principles crucial for optimized data storage and quick retrieval operations.

Testing and Troubleshooting:

• Guarantee software responsiveness and resolve coding issues promptly.

Ownership and Collaboration:

• Cooperate with various teams to brainstorm and develop scalable software solutions.
• Evolve into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on both technical and domain-specific areas.
• Exercise exceptional organizational and relationship management skills.
• Independently lead projects with complete ownership of outcomes.

Delivery and Documentation:

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools essential for seamless delivery.
• Producing high-quality outcomes with thorough testing.
• Capability to review and enhance existing processes and documentation.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in technology and/or data functions, preferably within financial services or consulting.
• Proven expertise in Python, PL/SQL, SQL, Shell Scripting, Tableau, Alteryx, and AutoSys.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift and Spark-based data engineering solutions.
• Proficiency in ETL tools and continuous integration/continuous deployment tools like Artifactory, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
