Job Role Summary:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will handle complex data manipulation tasks and establish data flows for both new and legacy systems. This position requires you to excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment where you will provide essential expertise in data extraction, transformation, load (ETL) processes, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and modify enterprise-wide systems and applications.
• Create and enhance complex data flows and pipelines.
• Resolve intricate hardware/software compatibility issues.
• Conduct thorough investigations and tests.
• Provide technical guidance for creation and updating of documentation.
• Offer troubleshooting support for complex ETL processes and database issues.
• Generate detailed reports on analyses, findings, and project status.
• Mentor and provide leadership to junior software engineers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in data engineering and ETL processes.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in managing data flows using tools like NiFi, Pentaho, or Spark.
• Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Experience with NoSQL datastores.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
• Proficient in languages like Java/J2EE, SQL, XML, XQuery, XPath, Python, Shell Scripting, JSON.
• Knowledge of server operating systems including Windows, Linux, Distributed Computing, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement and a proactive approach.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
