About the role

We’re in search of a Senior Data Engineer to join our London-based team. We're pioneering a novel approach to digital marketing, reshaping it by combining Big Data with large-scale machine learning. Our data sets are incredibly extensive - each month we collect user data into the billions and analyze hundreds of millions of documents daily.

In your capacity as a Data Platform team member, you’ll be expected to:

  • Create, manage, test, and maintain bulk Python data pipelines.
  • Analyze complex datasets in SQL.
  • Communicate clearly with Product Managers and Commercial teams translating intricate business requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Uphold software development best practices.
  • Maintain independent functioning within an agile environment.
  • Distribute your technical expertise knowledge across the business, mentoring your colleagues in areas of deep technical expertise.

We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer with the following qualifications:

  • Higher level degree (Bachelor/Masters) in computer science or a related field.
  • Strong programming capabilities in both Python and SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience in Google Cloud Platform or other cloud services, developing batch (Apache Airflow) and streaming (Dataflow) scalable data pipelines.
  • A passion for processing extensive datasets at scale (BigQuery, Apache Druid, Elasticsearch)
  • Familiarity with Terraform, DBT & Looker is a bonus.
  • Initiated measures pertaining to performance optimization and cost reduction.
  • A business-oriented mindset, you are eager to create exceptional products.
