Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering

Our Senior Data Engineer will spearhead the development of ETL pipelines using Airbrew and engage in data modeling within an AWS S3 Data Lake. You will collaborate with data science teams to support model design and perform complex data analysis using Trino and Pandas. Managing data vendor relationships and handling crucial data operations like pulling detailed customer and application data will also be part of your role.

Software Engineering

You will implement advanced XGBoost models using Python and play a pivotal role in designing underwriting policies and backend features in the Django REST framework. Your expertise will guide the integration of new data vendors and enhancements to API structures, ensuring robust data models and effective A/B testing strategies.

DevOps/Site Reliability

Monitoring and maintaining core systems using Opensearch Slack alerts, AWS SES, and Cloudwatch will be under your purview. You will also develop API endpoints using AWS CDK, build CI/CD pipelines, and manage various Docker, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.

Miscellaneous Tasks

Expect to extend single-page applications using a blend of Node.js, React, MobX, and maintain pages with Python and Django. Additional duties include handling ad-hoc audit requests, automating underwriting tasks, and engaging with customers via digital channels for marketing and loan settlements.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a robust background in both data engineering and software development, with a strong proficiency in Python, Django, and front-end technologies. Experience with AWS services, Docker, and database management is crucial. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are also necessary for success in this role.
