A Day in the Life of a Senior Data Governance Consultant

As part of our team, you will:

• Collaborate closely with the client's Governance team, building strong relationships with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and SMEs.
• Create a comprehensive Data Owners onboarding pack to facilitate the setup of data governance in specific areas.
• Host kick-off meetings with Data Owners to outline program goals, roles, and next steps.
• Attend workshops with Data Owners to identify and prioritize critical data assets.
• Develop and manage a tracking system to monitor data governance progress across agreed critical data sets.
• Establish regular forums and processes for escalating and tracking issues with Data Owners and Data Stewards.
• Support the formation of a Data Governance team, including team structure, role description, technical interview pack, candidate review, and onboarding.
• Conduct workshops to identify Data Stewards and Data Custodians for critical data sets.
• Onboard and train Data Stewards to ensure they understand their responsibilities and available support.
• Facilitate Data Cataloguing & Business Glossary activities with trained Data Stewards.

Requirements

We seek candidates with expertise in embedding data governance programs within medium to large organizations, especially in engineering and manufacturing sectors.

• Proven experience in leading engagements to drive the use of data governance and management solutions.
• Proficiency in data management best practices, guiding business SMEs, data engineering, and cloud engineering teams.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to a business audience.
• Experience in defining and implementing effective, auditable data governance and management controls.
• Hands-on experience with data management technologies, including metadata management, data lineage, data profiling, and quality management.

Note: The role requires presence in the Aiimi office one day per week and on-site with the client for an additional two days.
