About the Team
The newly formed Data Governance Team will set the Data Governance Strategy and Road Map, working closely with senior leadership to drive organizational change. The Senior Data Management Analyst will report to the Head of Data Governance and collaborate on new strategies to achieve our goals in:
- Data Discoverability & Automated Metadata Management (Data Catalogues)
- Data Literacy and Analytical Skills
- Clear Ownership of Data
- Data Lifecycle Management Practices

Job Description
About the Role
As the Senior Data Management Analyst, you will develop, execute, and embed company-wide data governance processes, policies, and data standards. Your influence will be crucial in winning support for Data Governance. You will also:
- Establish milestones for Data Domains in their Data Ownership journey
- Build long-term, strategic relationships with Data Owners and Data Stewards
- Drive acceptance of Data Governance and engage stakeholders in delivering Business Glossary, Metadata Management, Access Policies, and Terms of Use
- Identify the impact of internal or external events, regulations, and business use cases on ASOS’s use of data and create processes to manage compliance
- Lead and plan activities to implement data management strategies with Technical teams
- Build a strong alliance with Data Architecture and Data Engineering
- Implement and drive the adoption of Data Governance Tools like Data Catalogues and Data Observability, championing business user requirements in their development
- Advocate for Data Quality initiatives
- Engage with Data Stewards to resolve complex data quality issues specific to Data Domain requirements
- Support team members with training and mentorship
- Create and support collaborative ways of working across the Data Governance Teams
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about data, creates buzz for data, and adapts to help teams reach their data goals. You should:
- Actively seek out and evaluate future data opportunities by identifying emerging trends, new strategies, and technologies
- Have a proven track record of driving cultural change with Data Governance
- Be knowledgeable in data governance, data management, and key data tools and languages
- Have experience in Data Product and Data Mesh Principles
- Demonstrate impactful communication skills in both formal and informal settings, articulating complex ideas to broad audiences
- Take initiative, be persistent, and proactively look for ways to improve processes or deliver projects to increase productivity with data
- Bring enthusiastic and positive energy to engage a diverse network and form deep relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and colleagues
- Be assertive to ensure compliance with our Data Policies
