Tyson Foods is looking for a talented individual to join our Insight as a Service organization as a Senior Data Engineer. You will play a crucial role in advancing our cloud-native capabilities and developing high-performance, web-scale data pipeline solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer, your primary duties will include:

• Developing and maturing high-performance data pipeline solutions on cloud platforms like GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or AWS (Amazon Web Services).
• Designing robust data ingestion and transformation solutions throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Participating actively in support activities and prototyping efforts, providing read-outs of outcomes.
• Mentoring and growing technical team members with a commitment to knowledge sharing.
• Understanding and implementing "Art of the Possible" greenfield architectures, showing strong ownership characteristics, and focusing on emerging technologies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Technical experience in full-stack engineering, architecture, and technical delivery for large-scale, cloud-based software systems.
• Proficiency with SQL and query optimization, working on RDBMS, and data warehouse (ERD and dimensional modeling).
• An understanding of architecture, design, and implementation patterns for distributed cloud-based systems on AWS and GCP.
• Experience with GitLab CI and/or Jenkins CICD frameworks and knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
• Desire to learn modern technologies related to cloud-native application development patterns.
• Experience with Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban).

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience in SQL and query optimization, working on RDBMS and data warehouse.
• Demonstrated experience with varied databases, real-time integration patterns, and ETL/ELT best practices.
• Experience with CICD frameworks and common DevOps practices.
• Experience working in an onsite-offshore model.
• Awareness of metadata, data quality, and governance needs of Data and Analytics platforms.

Soft Skills

• Leadership and technical mentoring capabilities.
• Strong analytical, engineering, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of team members.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack engineering, architecture, and technical delivery for large-scale cloud-based systems.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS and GCP, data pipelines, streaming analytics, modern databases, network infrastructure, security, data, and application development.
• Hands-on experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle, including design, implementation, build, test, deploy, and support activities.
