Role Overview: Senior Data Platform Engineer

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer at Greenlight Financial Technology, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure to support our data-driven decision-making processes. You will play an essential role in driving our data strategy, ensuring data quality, and enabling seamless data integration across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines for real-time and batch data processing.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement business solutions.
  • Optimize and enhance existing data platforms to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and security.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse and export data securely to external partners.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD processes for automated deployment, integration, and testing.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data platform issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement MLOps processes for model deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Collaborate with machine learning engineers and data scientists to build and maintain feature stores.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, focusing on data platform development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native data services.
  • Expertise in building and managing ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or similar technologies.
  • Experience or familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow).
  • Familiarity with feature engineering techniques, feature selection, and feature store management.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
