We are currently on the lookout for a Senior Data Science Manager to lead our analytics team centered on the Platform Ecosystem division. This role involves spearheading a collaborative cross-functional team aimed at building tools for third-party developers and creating first-party experiences that enhance how friends hang out on Discord. You will play a crucial role in shaping the vision, influencing the company's strategic direction, and enhancing our platform ecosystem through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and expand a mission-driven analytics team dedicated to Discord's Data initiatives.
• Develop strategic partnerships with product and engineering teams, identifying opportunities and driving the evolution of our Platform Ecosystem.
• Formulate novel metrics and leverage analytics and experimentation to generate insights into user interactions and platform performance.
• Empower company-wide decision-making through the development of robust, scalable analytical tools and frameworks.
• Promote a culture of high-performance, prioritization, and operational excellence within the analytics team.

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates should have:

• Over 3 years of leadership experience with analytics teams, preferably with a background in managing groups of 5+ data scientists.
• Proven expertise in analytics, A/B testing, experimentation, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with programming in Python or R for detailed analysis.
• Exceptional communication skills capable of bridging technical and non-technical gaps.
• A collaborative, inquisitive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.

Bonus Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Python or R and advanced capabilities in BI tools like Chartio, Looker, or Tableau.
• Background in social media or digital consumer products and working with large-scale data environments.
• Experience in applying Machine Learning models to real-world business decisions.
• Strong familiarity with BigQuery and a proven track record in data-driven organizational roles.

Compensation and Perks: The US base salary range for this full-time role is $263,000 to $289,500, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and applicable training.
