Position Summary: As a Senior Data Scientist with Natera, you will be an essential part of our R&D Data group. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, prototyping, and productization of advanced algorithms vital for the analysis of genetic data, crucial for supporting Natera’s Oncology program. This position involves heavy interaction with our molecular biology and biostatistics teams to guide and analyze experiments.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Leverage sophisticated probability models to develop next-generation analytical algorithms and products.
- Enhance and optimize analysis pipelines for diagnostic tests, including variant detection and quality control.
- Manage product development from research to commercial launch.
- Contribute to our expanding intellectual property portfolio.
- Drive comprehensive data analysis initiatives and promote high standards in documentation.
- Collaborate on and guide molecular biology experiments.
- Regular interaction with PHI, requiring adherence to HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training within 30 days of hire.
- Comply with ongoing Natera training requirements and pass a post-offer criminal background check.

Required Qualifications:

- Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, etc.
- At least three years of data analysis experience, including that gained during Ph.D. studies.
- Proficiency in Python or extensive experience in a procedural language like C++.
- Strong foundation in probability theory and estimation/classification methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Post-graduate experience in data science or engineering beyond academics.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing or genetic testing.
- Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages.

Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to use Python or R for data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with a preference for collaborative environments.
- Keen interest in human genetics and sequencing technologies.

Remuneration:

The salary range for remote positions within the USA is between $125,100—$156,350 USD, reflective of a multitude of factors such as skills, years of experience, and location.
