Position Summary

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will provide strategic and analytic support to various teams, focusing on problem-solving through data analysis. Our goal is to design the supply chain of the future, enhancing the lives of our members.

What You’ll Do

  • Understand Business Context: Collaborate with leadership to understand business requirements and pain points. Develop data-driven hypotheses to solve complex issues.
  • Identify Data Sources: Extract and categorize relevant data, performing quality checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Formulate Technical Solutions: Translate business problems into data-related solutions, conducting exploratory analyses and applying appropriate methods/tools.
  • Drive the Data Strategy: Develop and apply data-driven strategies to unlock monetary value from data assets.
  • Build and Validate Models: Select suitable analytical techniques, engineer inputs/features, and assess models for optimality and robustness.
  • Develop and Test Code: Write and test code to develop solutions and application features.
  • Deploy and Scale Models: Build prototype solutions and deploy them sustainably in production.
  • Build Data Visualizations: Create visualizations to explore data, model outcomes, and business scenarios. Develop dashboards and define user workflows for actionable insights.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or related fields, preferably 6+ years.
  • Proficiency in data source identification, database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), and existing business systems.
  • Understanding of business value, data relevance, and the data ecosystem, including data management, quality standards, governance, and scalability.
  • Experience with coding languages (SQL, Python, R) for data analysis and model development.
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques (e.g., Linear Programming, Integer Programming, etc.) and commercial solvers (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi).
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical methods and exploratory data analysis techniques.
  • Comfort with model fit testing, tuning, and validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Python, R libraries, GGplot, Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, PowerBI) and advanced visualization techniques.
  • Experience in analytics consulting and presenting data-based findings to business teams.
  • Deep expertise in analytics, big data, and automation techniques.
