Join Our Team as a Senior Data Scientist

Google is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to spearhead projects in our Core Compute Analytics division. With your expertise, play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture that powers user experiences online.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in analytics, coding languages such as Python, R, SQL, database queries, or statistical analysis, OR 3 years of experience with a PhD.
• Proven experience collaborating with software engineers and proficiency in writing or testing production code.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 8 years of advanced experience in analytics, problem solving using coding, or in-depth statistical analyses, OR 6 years with a PhD.
• A solid understanding of compute technical infrastructure systems.

About This Role

Our Technical Infrastructure team is responsible for creating and maintaining the robust architecture that supports all online functionalities for Google. This team is not only a group of expert engineers who build and optimize our data centers and Google platforms, but they also thrive on dismantling and reassembling hardware to continually improve our systems.

The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to define business or product-oriented questions and convert these inquiries into actionable data-driven tasks. This role is pivotal in using data to shape Google’s next-generation compute infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with cross-functional teams to define and refine analytics-driven tasks.
• Utilize existing data models or create custom data infrastructures to design and evaluate solutions.
• Independently manage the data extraction and compilation from various sources ensuring high quality and readiness for analysis.
• Leverage your technical skills in SQL, R, or Python to provide actionable insights.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $223,000, depending on location and experience, plus a bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The specific salary range for your preferred location will be discussed during the hiring process.
