About the Position

What We’re Looking For:

The Senior Data Scientist will lead sophisticated analytical research, development, and implementation. This highly quantitative role demands elite analytical aptitude, strong programming skills, and intellectual curiosity. Ideal candidates have a track record of using data science to address business challenges, extensive experience running large-scale experiments in enterprise settings, proficiency in training and evaluating machine learning models in production, and a proven ability to lead technically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement business and technical processes for experimentation to address various business issues from marketing to survey analytics, including experiment ideation, design, monitoring, data analysis, code review, and results communication.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to gain domain knowledge, clarify and define requirements, plan and estimate development tasks, and manage projects both short-term and long-term. Provide mentorship and feedback to team members and enhance team operations.
• Develop and apply machine learning algorithms, automated decision engines, and other models.
• Conduct ad hoc statistical analysis, reporting, and visualization as required.
• Collaborate with engineers to productionize code, schedule jobs, and integrate into the 2U software ecosystem.

Qualifications:

• Degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field (Graduate degree preferred).
• 7+ years of experience conducting large-scale online controlled experiments.
• 5+ years of experience applying advanced analytical techniques in classification, regression, optimization, or natural language processing in production environments.
• Expertise in experimental design and evaluation frameworks (e.g., A/B Tests, Multi-Armed Bandits).
• Proficiency in applied statistics and machine learning techniques.
• Fluency in either R or Python.
• Proficient in SQL and extracting data from diverse database architectures.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $170,000, with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are based on qualifications, experience, skills, and education, as related to the job requirements, budget for the position, and labor market costs.
