Your Impact as a Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to enhance our brand marketing measurement and generate insights that improve our campaign strategies. You will work with various stakeholders to plan and optimize creatives, landing pages, and more.

If you have a strong background in causal inference, Bayesian modeling, and an eagerness to refine our campaign strategies, we want to hear from you. Projects may include developing a Marketing Mix Model and designing and analyzing Quasi-experimentation.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Inference: Apply causal inference methods and Bayesian regression models to assess the effectiveness of Airbnb’s advertising.
  • Experimentation: Design and analyze experiments to gauge the impact of digital marketing investments.
  • AI/ML: Utilize LLM to understand user travel scenarios and optimize marketing touchpoints with Reinforcement Learning.
  • Insights: Produce valuable insights about customer segments and the most valuable guests to enhance ad effectiveness and optimize spend.
  • Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement brand marketing measurement.
  • Empowerment: Strategically identify opportunities to improve and scale brand measurement and customer insights.

Your Expertise

  • 6+ years in a quantitative analysis role with a Master’s degree, or 4+ years with a PhD in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Bayesian Modeling and causal inference methods.
  • Experience with statistical programming (Python or R) and database usage (SQL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills using appropriate methods and models.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex findings into compelling narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Economics, Statistics, Marketing, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM, deep learning for video and audio, and reinforcement learning.
  • A passion for marketing and consumer science, along with a keen interest in applying academic research to real-world problems.

Location

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $174,000—$213,500 USD. Actual pay depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
