Senior Data Scientist

At the heart of this effort are our small, interdisciplinary teams of data scientists, analysts, and developers working alongside a product manager, scrum master, developer, UI/UX designer, business analysts and scrum master to lead our digital transformation and handle our most pressing business challenges. You will be responsible for integrating and analyzing complex, high-dimensional data sets, building creative, innovative models to solve challenging business problems or identify untapped opportunities. You will collaborate with your team to ensure that these models are implemented into solutions for GSK. The work you do will transform GSK, leveraging our huge untapped data resources to drive better business decisions, make advanced analytics a competitive advantage for GSK and ensure better health outcomes for those reliant on our medication and innovation. Overall responsibilities include: Business and data understanding: Working with other data scientists, you will build your understanding of the business context, systems, environment, strategy, and people aligned to the given area. This includes understanding the relevant internal and external voluminous data sources, the validity, and domains of such data to align with the business objective. You will conduct data acquisition from multiple data sources and wrangle data sets, selecting appropriate techniques to create data structure relevant to the problem. Data preparation: You will create the necessary data set(s) using your understanding of complex business problems, data formats, data's applicability to the problem, and standard modeling techniques. Modeling: For the business objective, you can use advanced modeling techniques to create a model that performs particular requirements and specifications. Test & validate the model: You are capable of applying best practice model fit testing, adjustments, and validation techniques, assessing model performance, comparing results from various methodologies, and suggesting improvements. Communication of insights: You can create rich data visualizations and use them to communicate complex messages to business leaders in a clear and simple way.
