Operational Efficiency Team

The Operational Efficiency team at HUMAN is committed to protecting the internet by disrupting cybercrime economics. Our team of data scientists builds advanced automation and capabilities, evolving from reactive manual intervention to proactive automated solutions using the latest machine learning techniques.

Role: Senior Data Scientist - Operational Efficiency

What You’ll Do:

  • Build upon existing automation and data science platforms to automate both reactive and proactive actions that detect and disrupt novel bot attacks.
  • Develop robust automated fraud detection techniques through meticulous experimentation to create methods that are difficult for bad actors to bypass.
  • Support experiments highlighting the value of emerging automation solutions by identifying anomalies consistent with fraud.
  • Actively participate in team responsibilities, including reviewing peers' work, monitoring anomalies through our ‘sheriffing’ process, and contributing during ‘tech-debt days’ to keep our codebase clean.
  • Contribute to our data science toolsets, driving disproportionate leverage by accelerating fraud detection, automating cumbersome tasks, and developing novel methodologies.

Who You Are:

  • Experience in solving large-scale, data-intensive problems in production systems (we process trillions of events per day).
  • Ability to explain the nuances of different statistical modeling approaches and make informed decisions, with an engineering mindset for shipping code to customers.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL, familiar with tools and libraries like Pydantic, Jupyter, Pandas, and NumPy.
  • Fluent in Object-Oriented development and possess strong debugging skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality and accuracy of your work.
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders, following SDLC best practices including project management, version control, unit testing, and CI/CD.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $135,000 - $170,000, with potential additional on-target commission pay/bonus. The base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options and other incentive pay may be provided, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position.
