Position Summary

The Data Scientist role at CVS Health places you at the forefront of innovation, directly influencing business decisions. As a part of a Fortune 5 company, you will join a forward-thinking SWAT team of data scientists and engineers. Your mission: To design, build, and maintain a backend underwriting application for PBM Underwriters comprising several microservices and data pipelines in a serverless Azure cloud environment, all aiding strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing and reviewing code and business logic to calculate P&L forecasts using a big data system pipeline, a near real-time computation engine, and a UI.
• Collaborating with business partners to understand problems and goals, develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports, and performance metrics.
• Understanding key business value drivers, translating them into business opportunities, and framing them as analytical problems.
• Developing and presenting analytics results and solutions to existing and prospective constituents.
• Exchanging complex information with internal and external peers and managers.
• Presenting recommendations to senior staff and internal clients.
• Mentoring junior team members and autonomously managing client relationships with senior business leaders as their primary contact.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant analytic experience.
• 3+ years of experience coding in Python.
• 3+ years of experience in SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts and implications to business partners.
• Anticipation and prevention of potential problems and roadblocks.
• Proficiency in advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple sources.
• Expertise in mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s degree or PhD preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical pay range for this role is $92,700.00 - $185,400.00 annually. The actual base salary will depend on factors like experience, education, and geography. Additional compensation includes bonuses, commissions, or short-term incentives.
