Job Description for Senior Developer - Power BI

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain reports and dashboards using Microsoft's Power BI tool stack.
• Create Power BI models based on various modeling designs, including Snowflake, Star, and Relational data models.
• Recommend and establish secure, appropriate connectivity with necessary data sources using Microsoft Tool stack/Power BI.
• Guide a team of developers across multiple projects and tools.
• Engage with business users to capture and document new or enhanced reporting and dashboard requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for development purposes.
• Collaborate with business users and architects to plan and schedule new data solution projects, software upgrades, and performance optimizations.
• Support data quality, cleansing, and governance activities.
• Provide training and assist business users with tools used to deliver solutions, including reports and dashboards.
• Ensure proper configuration management and change controls.
• Establish quality metrics and monitor their implementation.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and implementing reports and dashboards on the Microsoft Tool stack/Power BI.
• Proficient in resolving complex modeling issues in Power BI independently.
• Expert-level skills in coding complex SQL, MDX, and DAX queries, with substantial experience in SQL performance tuning and debugging.
• Extensive experience in creating complex models and visually impactful dashboards to drive better decision-making.
• Experience with Power Query, M, R, Python is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on experience in Information Retrieval and Data Warehousing (DWH) Architecture.
• Proficient in Data Analysis, Data Modeling, and Data Mart design.
• Good understanding of ETL Tools and Technologies (SSIS, Informatica, DataStage, Talend, etc.).
• Solid grasp of BI and Analytics best practices.
• Familiarity with Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with the Azure Stack (Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure SQL DBs, blob storage, Azure Tables, etc.) is highly advantageous.
• Working knowledge of APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with Power Platform tools & MS365/SharePoint/Teams is a plus.
• Experience in stakeholder management and possessing good estimation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and time-critical environment.
