Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Director of AI Ethics and Data Governance to take on a highly visible and critical leadership role. This position involves spearheading the strategic evolution and operationalization of data governance and AI ethics capabilities across ServiceNow.
As a key influencer, you will have the opportunity to develop a unique and world-class career at ServiceNow. You will play a crucial role in shaping our AI Ethics and Data Governance strategy, ensuring the responsible use of our vast data assets and governing AI efforts while enabling large-scale innovation. Partner with senior leaders across diverse business functions to operationalize AI ethics and data governance policies, standards, and practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel on Data Governance and AI Governance Models.
- Advise the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer on AI and Data Ethics matters.
- Lead a high-performing team of data governance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Align data governance strategy with ServiceNow's business objectives and data ethics principles.
- Collaborate with strategic partners to advocate for AI Governance, Ethics, and Responsibility to build user trust and ensure compliance with global regulations.
- Promote a culture of data responsibility and compliance, enhancing data literacy and awareness across all levels.
- Innovate in data governance practices, implementing cutting-edge solutions to address emerging data challenges at the enterprise level.
- Offer thought leadership on best practices in data governance and responsible AI principles both internally and externally.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or advanced degree in a related field with substantial experience.
- Minimum 15 years of legal experience in data governance, management, or related fields, with a proven track record of success in leading large-scale data governance programs.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of the data ecosystem, including architectures, infrastructure, governance frameworks, warehousing concepts, quality management, and stewardship practices.
- Ability to translate knowledge into actionable, enterprise-wide data governance strategies integrating data ethics principles.
- Expertise in developing and implementing adaptable and effective data governance frameworks for large, global organizations.
- Experience navigating the evolving AI regulatory landscape to develop compliant data governance practices and mitigate risk.
- Skills in solving enterprise data governance challenges like master data management (MDM), data lake governance, and data mesh implementation.
- Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, business acumen, and excellent business judgment; ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and pivot in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for both individual and group settings, internal and external contexts.
