Our Strategic Planning and Advanced Architecture Team (SPARC) within Microsoft’s Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure (AHSI) is seeking a visionary Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence Silicon Product Management to propel our Artificial Intelligence Silicon initiatives powering Microsoft Cloud and CoPilots. This pivotal role involves the seamless management of significant Silicon and Hardware programs from inception to production.

At Microsoft, we serve over a billion users globally through more than 200 online services. The AHSI team is crucial to the robust expansion of our cloud infrastructure, supporting a suite of Microsoft solutions including Azure, Bing, MSN, Office 365, and more. Our SPARC unit is at the forefront, driving advanced architecture and critical hardware roadmap planning and program management for current and prospective online services.

Role Responsibilities

This role requires effective collaboration across various engineering teams within Microsoft, focusing on developing processes that foster efficient cooperation and decision-making. As a Senior Director, you will:

  • Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for next-generation Artificial Intelligence Silicon.
  • Drive crucial executive decisions relating to new investments and ensure meticulous analysis, goal setting for programs, and comprehensive risk management.
  • Manage end-to-end technical projects and maintain smooth operational processes.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects, engineering teams, and business units to develop and oversee program development from start to finish.
  • Identify market opportunities, decode customer needs, and translate them into detailed product requirements and specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience in product, service, project, or program management; or software development.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in technical product management, especially in data center hardware systems or cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing product roadmaps from conception to launch, and leading end-to-end program execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with silicon, hardware systems, and software ecosystem setup within a technical context.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and a driven result-oriented approach.
  • Knowledge of server technology and associated commodities is advantageous.
