Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a hardware engineering technical environment, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with analog circuits and mobile interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience with optical engineering and operations.
  • Experience with optoelectronics and simulation/CAD design.

About the Job

As a Senior Display Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a specialized team that designs and builds the internal hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of Google’s services. Your role includes the development of systems from the lowest levels of circuit design to large-scale system design, ensuring they proceed to high volume manufacturing. Your contributions will directly impact the cutting-edge data centers, influencing millions of Google users.

Our team specifically focuses on display module electrical engineering for Google’s consumer electronics like Pixel phones, watches, and tablets. We work on LCDs and OLED displays, on both glass and plastic substrates, collaborating closely with display vendors, internal and external cross-functional teams, software teams, display mechanical/optical teams, and system Electrical Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams to deliver small and medium-sized display modules for first-party systems to the market.
  • Develop and optimize innovative concept and circuit design for display panels, modules, and their driving electronics.
  • Support system hardware validation and software development to ensure optimal display performance.
  • Define electrical specifications for display modules and the future product roadmap.
  • Characterize display electrical performance and troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Optimize innovative concept and circuit designs iteratively.

Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hires across all US locations, determined by role, level, and location. Individual compensation is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.
