The Electrical Engineering (EE) team at SOE is our core functional group, known for delivering innovative, reliable electrical solutions. Job Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will design, architect, and implement complex electrical systems for clients across various industries. You'll lead multidisciplinary project teams, mentor team members, and ensure the delivery of exceptional electrical project outputs. Additionally, you'll contribute strategically to the growth of the Electrical Engineering team and the company by developing essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and implement electronic systems and circuitry for industries including aerospace, renewable energy, robotics, and medical devices.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure to enhance the EE team's efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide team members to improve their skills and core competencies.
  • Break down complex electrical systems into manageable tasks and ensure technical excellence.
  • Partner with clients for requirements generation, ensuring client engagement and success throughout projects.
  • Perform component selection and trade studies to meet design requirements.
  • Capture schematics, design PCB layouts, and create component symbols and footprints.
  • Conduct design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Business Development (BD) efforts by generating and reviewing project estimates and assessing new work scopes.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to expand SOE’s EE capabilities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing custom electronic systems.
  • 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams through hardware design projects from inception to completion.
  • Expert in end-to-end electronics design from requirements generation through schematic, layout, fabrication, and hardware bring-up.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience decomposing complex problems into systems manageable by a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in at least one ECAD tool (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Cadence, PADS, EAGLE).
  • Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes, DFM/DFA practices, and IPC/JEDEC standards.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of electronic systems.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field.
  • Experience in a startup, tech, or consulting environment with multiple concurrent responsibilities.
  • Technical project management or customer-facing leadership experience in engineering, production, or R&D settings.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ firmware development or Verilog HDL development.
