Job Description

In your role as a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Develop scalable and efficient data pipelines to back various data-driven initiatives.
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to define technical solutions that meet data requirements.
• Apply best practices in data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval to maintain high data quality and integrity.
• Optimize data workflows to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot the data infrastructure to prevent and resolve issues.
• Keep abreast of new technologies in data engineering, proposing innovative tools and techniques to enhance our data capabilities.

Person Specification

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related fields.
• At least four years of experience in data engineering, demonstrating a track record in data solution design and implementation.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala and strong experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• A solid understanding of both relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and data modeling concepts.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams.
