About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to aid in designing leading-edge products with reduced environmental footprints. Utilizing comprehensive measurements, detailed modeling, and direct engagements with design teams, we strive to spearhead significant and relevant environmental advancements.

Key Qualifications:

  • In-depth scientific computing skills including data analysis, visualization, and handling of extensive datasets are mandatory.
  • Proficient in programming with SQL/Python/R and advanced spreadsheet functions.
  • Experience in forming assumptions, operating with incomplete data, and identifying uncertainties.
  • Knowledge of environmental indicators and impacts, specifically related to carbon, water, energy, and resources is necessary.
  • Adept at improving data protocols/standards.
  • Experience with Python and SQL in data extraction, cleansing, and mining.
  • Proven ability to cooperate with multifaceted teams in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Preferred knowledge includes developing LCA models related to engineering or manufacturing processes, and familiarity with the production of electronic components and raw materials.

Role Description

At Apple, the Environmental Metrics and Design team has formulated some of the most refined carbon and material models for our products. Our approach is rooted in life cycle assessment (LCA) and material flow analysis (MFA) but spans several sciences, technologies, and engineering fields. Your task will involve enhancing these models through the seamless integration of supplier data, identifying critical areas for strategic environmental initiatives, and building relationships across various teams to standardize and influence environmental data strategies.

Education & Experience

A BS degree is required, with MS and PhD degrees being admirable. An engineering or operations background is highly favored.

Additional Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of curiosity.
  • Ability to manage uncertainties and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in handling both technical and non-technical dialogues.
  • Experience with data manipulation and maintaining large data sets is crucial.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning tools and LCA software is advantageous.
  • Willingness for domestic and international travel (10% of the time).

Pay & Benefits

Apple offers a competitive salary range between $188,000.00 and $282,500.00, reflecting the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
