Job Description

Do you thrive on solving complex digital design verification challenges? HII Mission Technologies is seeking innovative thinkers to identify and address difficult corner-case bugs and vulnerabilities in FPGA and ASIC designs at the gate level.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you'll utilize industry-standard functional verification tools (e.g., Questa, VCS, Verdi) and logical equivalence tools (e.g., OneSpin 360EC) to ensure design functionality and integrity. Target areas include embedded processors, DSPs, filters, transceivers, data links, systems-on-chip, and decoders. Experience in cybersecurity, electronic warfare, encryption, radar, or satellite communications is a plus.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop models, transactors, stimuli, monitors, and test benches to simulate and identify hidden behaviors in gate-level digital netlists.
  • Create clear documentation and test cases to demonstrate identified bugs or specification deviations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to produce cohesive results and improve processes.

Note: Candidates must be U.S. citizens and willing to obtain a DoD security clearance if not already cleared.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 7 years with a Master's, 4 years with a PhD or JD, or 13 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Willingness to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in modern digital verification and modeling languages such as SystemVerilog, SystemC, C/C++, Matlab
  • Experience with directed, constrained-random, and assertion-based verification techniques at various levels
  • Exposure to modern functional simulators (e.g., Xcelium, Incisive, Questa, VCS, Riviera-Pro)
  • Scripting skills for batch verification tasks (e.g., Python, Bash, Tcl, make files)
  • Familiarity with revision control systems like Perforce, git, SVN
  • Experience in debugging and isolating issues with gate-level netlists

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with object-oriented, embedded, assembly, or machine code programming
  • Experience in software or hardware reverse-engineering (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra)
  • FPGA design or verification experience
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Knowledge of IC trust, assurance, or security verification techniques
  • Familiar with logical equivalence checkers (e.g., OneSpin 360-EC, ESP, Conformal EC)
  • Experience with formal ABV <
