Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Established in August 2019, we are devoted to eradicating unnecessary inconveniences patients and doctors face, especially for diagnoses necessitating costly procedures or medications. To this end, we have built software specifically designed to ensure a clear and prompt approval of the treatment plan, so that patients and doctors can focus more on health rather than financial or administrative issues.

Opportunity Overview

In this position, you will join our expanding team of top-notch machine learning engineers and clinical experts to implement machine learning models capable of streamlining tedious administrative clinical practices.

Our ML team is working on designing, implementing, and analyzing production models that pull out or forecast appropriate clinical results from structured and freeform data sources.

What you will do:

• Evaluate deep learning techniques (e.g., transformers) for embedding, retrieval, classification, and generative use cases
• Design, implement, and supervise reliable and scalable machine learning systems
• Write and maintain code libraries for data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and implementation
• Offer mentorship on software and machine learning best practices to junior engineers
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders, including product managers, medical professionals, and technical executives

Your background and characteristics:

• You have 3+ years of practical ML experience in an industrial setting with a degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or a related discipline
• Clear comprehension of model construction, model maintenance, and the measures optimizing models for production use
• Understand experimental design and have the ability to independently manage data collection, measurement, and interpretation of results
• Expertise in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., )
• Proven experience in constructing deep learning models (e.g., transformers) for NLP tasks

Bonus points for:

• Experience with ElasticSearch
• Experience with generative AI or Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Experience working with unstructured healthcare data (e.g., clinical notes)
• Experience with OCR or image-based document understanding techniques
• Hands-on experience using AWS tools such as SageMaker Studio and Neptune
