Machine Learning Engineers at CoStar are pivotal, delving into data from billions of page views, millions of images, extensive geographic data, and in-depth property content. We refine our vast property database, tailor customer experiences on our platforms, and develop innovative datasets and forecasts that set industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and launch scalable machine learning and statistical models to process large data volumes.
- Conduct extensive statistical analyses, transforming results into actionable business insights for decision-makers.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and leadership teams to address business queries using big data.
- Automate data processing and manage data pipelines for efficient data handling.
- Relay complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and understand CoStar business deeply to pinpoint improvement opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited university. A PhD is highly preferred.
- Consistent track record of commitment to previous employers.
- At least 2+ years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist for PhD holders, or 5+ years for Master’s degree holders.
- Proficient in Python and adept with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, statsmodels, pandas, and matplotlib.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Exceptional ability to derive actionable business insights from data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data platforms and analytics technologies like Snowflake and Databricks.
- Background working in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with shell scripting for automation and data pipeline tasks.
