About the Role

The Samsara Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure team is tasked with developing end-to-end ML applications that enhance our technology offerings. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, your role involves advancing ML solutions to elevate the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of physical operations. This position promotes extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust ML infrastructures and optimize services.

This fully remote position is open to candidates based in the US and Canada.

In this role, you will:

• Design and implement ML APIs for seamless integration into cloud-based applications.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, supporting frequent updates and enhancements to ML models.
• Implement tools for A/B testing and online model evaluation for efficient rollouts and iterations.
• Conduct research on emerging ML technologies and methodologies to spur continuous innovation.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management to convert customer requirements into effective ML solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a Machine Learning engineering role, or similar.
• Proficiency in common programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Demonstrated experience with full-stack or backend development to understand data structures and dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a quantitative discipline such as Statistics or Applied Math.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC frameworks.
• Proven track record of deploying and managing ML applications in cloud environments.
• Capability to build from scratch and scale end-to-end ML applications.

Compensation and Benefits

Samsara offers competitive compensation, including base salary (CAD $132,600—$171,600), potential bonuses, and stock options.
