About the Role: Stability AI is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to become a part of our Integrity Team. This position is crucial for enhancing the safety and reliability of our systems across various content modalities. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in solving complex challenges, is dedicated to developing integrity-based machine learning models, and can manage a fast-paced variety of tasks efficiently.

In this significant role, you will utilize your machine learning expertise to lead, design, build, and deploy pivotal solutions that maintain our high standards of AI safety and integrity. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the seamless integration of these systems to support our organization's comprehensive goals. We encourage creative ML engineers who are eager to explore the limits of generative models. You’ll have access to the latest high-performance computing resources and work alongside leading researchers and engineers, making a substantial impact in the rapidly evolving domain of generative AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the design, development, and deployment of ML systems; present these solutions to leadership teams and clients.
• Collaborate with the Research team to create the next generation of safe models, assisting with model training optimization, dataset engineering, and more.
• Act as a strategic partner for organizational leaders, leveraging machine learning to drive business outcomes.
• Develop, prototype, and scale model architecture enhancements and new features to boost our safety mechanisms.
• Write and maintain production-quality code, focusing on robustness, efficiency, scalability, and safety in a live environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science with at least 5 years of experience in machine learning projects.
• Proficiency in Python scientific stack, PyTorch, and Jupyter/Colab notebooks essential.
• Experience with JAX, TPUs, CUDA-level programming, or JavaScript (e.g., TensorFlow.js) is a plus.
• Capable of effectively communicating machine learning concepts and results through both writing and visualization.
• Skilled in building interactive web demos for generative ML models.
• Familiarity with the open-source ML ecosystem, such as HuggingFace, W&B, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and comfort in an ambiguous, evolving work environment.
• Prior experience in Trust & Safety or Integrity areas is advantageous.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between $188,000 and $209,000, with individual pay depending on job-related skills and experience. Total compensation also includes stock options and benefits.
