We are currently on the lookout for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic Portfolio ML team. This role is essential for developing advanced models that manage and optimize credit opportunities, impacting our profitability directly.

What You'll Do:

• Develop cutting-edge machine learning models using Affirm’s proprietary data, as well as third-party information, to enhance the flow of loan opportunities.
• Collaborate with platform and product engineering teams to create systems for model training, decision-making, and monitoring.
• Research and prototype innovative solutions that pave the way for future portfolio decisioning at Affirm.
• Scale and implement data pipelines, features, and algorithms crucial to our production models.
• Work closely with engineering, credit, and product teams to establish requirements for new product development.
• Participate in an on-call rotation schedule as a fundamental part of this role.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Experts in machine learning with proficiency in Generalized Linear Models, Gradient Boosting, Deep Learning, and more. A background in credit risk or portfolio management is a plus.
• Strong programming skills in Python and competence in SQL for data manipulation.
• Experience with distributed systems like Spark or Ray, and familiarity with tools such as scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy.
• Outstanding communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• A committed professional who can present complex technical concepts in an understandable way, ensuring trust and reliability in decision-making processes.

Compensation & Benefits:

Our starting pay grade for this role sits within the ESP30 level, often ranging from a minimum of €71,700 to a maximum of €107,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. At Affirm, we offer a robust benefits package which includes:

This role is open for remote candidates based in Spain and may require occasional visits to an Affirm office. Visa sponsorship is available.
