Job Opportunity: Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer

Your Mission

As a Data Scientist, Security Operations at Activision, you will leverage your skills to develop and operationalize machine learning models in support of our Anti-Cheat endeavors.

Responsibilities

In a dynamic environment like ours, your priorities may change, but your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing tools to identify, monitor, and investigate emerging threats targeting our games and players.
• Analyzing security log data from various security devices using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and advanced statistical techniques.
• Creating tools to automate reporting on system irregularities and improper data access using anomaly detection and event correlations.
• Enhancing security efficiency and streamlining/automating Security Operations processes through technical expertise.
• Researching, educating, and applying knowledge of current and emerging cybersecurity data science principles.
• Translating complex information into actionable recommendations.

Minimum Requirements

• Strong prototype-to-production engineering skills in Python, including source control, documentation, versioning, testing, containerization, CI/CD, and task scheduling.
• Proficiency in advanced analytics (e.g., statistical power analysis, significance testing, t-tests, ANOVA) and SQL.
• Experience with machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, and clustering algorithms.
• Knowledge in time-series analysis, Bayesian methods, and survival analysis.
• Expertise in handling cybersecurity data sets and applying machine learning methods for security and threat hunting.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Basic understanding of game security, game development, and anti-cheat software.

Knowledge & Skills

• A Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in threat intelligence, open-source intelligence, online research, fraud or anti-cheat investigations.

Extra Points

• Experience with mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
• C# development skills.
• Experience in deep learning.
• A passion for video games with an understanding of Warzone’s gameplay mechanics.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum development environments and tools like Jira.
