The Card Data Organization at Capital One focuses on delivering cutting-edge data solutions. We are deeply involved in crafting the architecture for both data production and consumption. Our technologies span Scala, Python, Spark, and AWS services including EMR, Glue, and Redshift, alongside modern frameworks like Airflow and Step Functions. Your leadership will crucially impact the scaling of our operations and refining data analytics, optimizing business outcomes.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering, your role will be multifaceted:

• Leading cross-functional Agile teams to innovate and enhance full-stack development solutions.
• Directing a team specializing in machine learning, microservices, and comprehensive stack systems.
• Employ various programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python alongside open-source databases.
• Engage with digital product managers to deploy robust, cloud-based solutions.
• Promote tech knowledge sharing, mentorship, and continuous learning within the team.

Basic and Preferred Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of 8 years in application development, with extensive experience in big data technologies and cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proven leadership experience, ideally with 4+ years in managing high-performance teams.

• Advanced degrees or robust experience in programming languages (Python, SQL, Scala).
• Demonstrable experience with NoSQL implementations and data warehousing solutions is highly advantageous.
