Job Description

We’re on the hunt for an experienced Senior Manager of Data Infrastructure to play a pivotal role in expanding Procore’s Data Mesh division. Stationed in our Austin, TX office, this vital position focuses on leading efforts to build and maintain a robust data infrastructure that powers our customer-centric products.

This role encompasses strategic partnership with diverse engineering and product management teams to shape and execute the data infrastructure roadmap. A successful candidate will showcase proven leadership abilities, driving team performance and managing critical distributed systems across various technologies, including data storage and streaming.

What You'll Do

• Design and deploy significant components of our data platform focusing on database management, data lakes, and data processing (both streaming and batch).
• Lead and mentor our engineering team through all software development lifecycle phases by implementing efficient, scalable solutions.
• Develop self-service capabilities to enable effective and scalable software operations.
• Identify technical opportunities and lead experimental proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Work closely with Product, UX, and other engineering groups, leveraging data insights to influence product strategies and innovation.
• Provide continuous training, feedback, and career development opportunities to team members, fostering an environment of growth and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer A pience or a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years’ experience in designing and managing scalable, cloud-based data platforms in large, user-centered enterprise environments.
• Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role directly overseeing engineering teams.
• Expertise in managing various database and data processing technologies such as PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Snowflake, Kafka, Flink, and Spark.
• A solid grasp on data infrastructure components, maintaining performance, reliability, and optimization.
• A proactive leader and lifelong learner, open to continuously adopting new technologies and frameworks.

Compensation and Perks
