Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will have two direct reports to start, with the opportunity to grow within the Marketing Technology and Innovation team. You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering on GTM audience data monetization strategy.
  • Creating and managing sellable digital assets in support of Ad Sales.
  • Collaborating with Ad-Ops, Product, and Technology Teams.
  • Supporting Western Union internal Enterprise Marketing teams.

Primary Duties

  • Implement a commercially focused data strategy measured against tangible business outcomes and timeframes.
  • Build critical capabilities within Western Union’s data function.
  • Work with business and Engineering teams to understand data and analytical needs, developing solutions accordingly.
  • Lead change management efforts to enable efficient organizational operations.
  • Drive data analytics for business enablement, capturing data value as a competitive advantage.
  • Define database data capture requirements with cross-functional touch points and oversee external data integrations.
  • Drive data governance processes, ensuring data accuracy, defining data terms, documenting data lineage, and implementing data quality rules.
  • Responsible for data collection, analysis, presentation creation, and addressing senior management queries.
  • Manage brand mapping, hierarchy, metadata taxonomy, cataloging, and classification.
  • Oversee master and meta data management.
  • Manage the relationship with Western Union's CDP provider and third-party data vendors.
  • Support high-profile clients such as sales, acquisitions, and strategy teams through data management and storytelling.
  • Responsible for successful trafficking, optimization, and delivery of audience extension campaigns.
  • Educate Account Executives on Programmatic and Audience Sales landscape.
  • Lead Marketing’s commitment to addressing “at risk” needs and delivering quality external traffic to meet advertising goals.

Role Requirements

  • 7+ years in an ad product role with a technical skill set.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in owning audience segmentations creation and advancement.
  • Knowledgeable about AdTech, MarTech, Programmatic media, digital and omni-channel marketing, and personalization.
  • Exceptional operational skills, including gathering product requirements from various stakeholders.
  • Experience driving incremental revenue by utilizing 1st party data to target 3rd party inventory.
  • Experience in developing business intelligence operations from scratch and overcoming data ingestion and normalization challenges in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, etc.
  • Expert in analytical tools and statistical models, translating them into business and go-to-market strategies.
  • Proficient with GAM/DFP, SSPs (e.g., Google Ad, Index Exchange), Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of DSPs (e.g., DV360, TTD, Criteo).
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ownership mindset with a propensity for finding unique solutions to business and operational challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical complexities in layman terms.
