We are looking for enthusiastic DevOps Engineers who are eager to combine data with emerging technologies. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving significant transformation within Capital One.

About the Role

This position is part of our enterprise Perimeter Defense team. In Perimeter Defense, we protect our most important customer-facing applications from malicious or automated internet traffic. You will build infrastructure, APIs, and other software to support our mission.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers skilled in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
• Stay current with tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external tech communities, mentor other engineers, and occasionally code or review code.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance the financial empowerment of millions of Americans.
• Utilize languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go, along with container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools like Ansible and Terraform, and AWS services.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of DevOps Engineering experience (excluding internships)
• 4+ years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• 6+ years of Unix/Linux system administration experience
• 4+ years in people management

Preferred Qualifications:

• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering experience
• 6+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Go, Bash, Perl, or Ruby)
• 4+ years in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery
• 3+ years with monitoring tools (Splunk or Zabbix)
• 3+ years with container orchestration services (Docker or Kubernetes)
• 3+ years experience in Agile Development Practices
