We're looking for a passionate Full Stack Senior Member Technical Staff – Software Development to join our athenahealth Insights team. This role is based in Bangalore and is part of our athenahealth Platform division.

You are an experienced full stack engineer with a knack for building visualization platforms. Your excellent communication skills and quick learning ability will help you thrive in the complex healthcare domain. You exhibit both tenacity in problem-solving and agility in learning, demonstrating both design and engineering excellence.

The Team

The athena Insights team provides customers with a unique analytics performance experience. We aim to make it easy to glean and share practice performance insights, showcase athena's value and partnership, and continuously serve up intelligence derived from the athena network.

Responsibilities

  • Produce clear and accurate technical design specifications.
  • Deliver high-quality software components and services adhering to RPR policies on security, performance, longevity, and integration testing.
  • Estimate development tasks with 80% accuracy and challenge others during estimation.
  • Follow coding conventions, architectures, and best practices.
  • Write, debug, and deploy code to production, delivering timely fixes.
  • Adhere to the definition of done (DOD) for each sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, code reviews, bug fixes, and documentation.
  • Perform peer code reviews to ensure quality standards are upheld.
  • Master domain knowledge for your assigned area.
  • Take ownership of team-built solutions post-release, considering customer adoption as a success criterion.
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies to boost team performance.
  • Volunteer for backlog work, commit to quality, and coordinate team efforts for effective completion.
  • Actively participate in scrum meetings, sprint planning, readouts, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate across Technology and Product teams to ensure business goal alignment.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional team members.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in an Agile environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Strong software engineering and debugging skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining microservices and web applications, contributing to both front-end and back-end processes.
  • Proficiency in a core programming language (e.g., C++, Java, C#).
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, Node.js/JavaScript.
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases; exposure to big data systems or OLAP databases is a plus.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, relational database technologies, RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern JavaScript frameworks like React.
  • Experience with cloud-based services; working experience with AWS is a plus.

You will work with the following technology stack, subject to changes as the ecosystem evolves:

  • Microservices developed in NodeJS and hosted in AWS.
  • Snowflake as a data lake and Apache Druid as an OLAP database.
  • ETL pipelines and AWS Lambda functions.
  • ReactJS for front-end development.
  • CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins.
  • Source code repository in Bitbucket.
