About the Role:

The Biomarker Development (BMD) group at Novartis BioMedical Research invites applications for a Senior Molecular Imaging Expert to enhance our Clinical Imaging & Analytics team. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the development of novel drugs through advanced molecular imaging techniques.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

As a pivotal member of our team, you will:

  • Act as an internal authority in PET/SPECT and Molecular Imaging focused on clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with Oncology and General Medicine teams to develop and execute tailored imaging strategies for clinical research.
  • Handle the incorporation of imaging in clinical trials to deliver essential insights on patient eligibility, drug efficacy, and safety, along with understanding mechanism of action.
  • Work closely with both internal support teams and external research organizations to implement and assess imaging readouts.
  • Guide molecular imaging and ligand development initiatives from early preclinical stages to clinical settings.
  • Explore and potentially develop new imaging techniques and methodologies to be integrated into clinical trials.

Essential Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A PhD, MD, or MD/PhD with over 5 years of experience in PET/SPECT Imaging, particularly in clinical trial and translational research settings.
  • Profound knowledge and technical expertise in PET and SPECT applications in live readouts.
  • A robust track record of innovative research, preferably involving multiple imaging modalities.
  • Experience in clinical trial design, including endpoint statistics and clinical protocol development.

Desirable Attributes:

Experience and expertise in the following areas will be advantageous:

  • Clinical Radioligand/Radiopharmaceutical Therapy (RLT/RPT).
  • Background in Radiochemistry and novel ligand development from research to clinical application.
  • Familiarity with regulatory submissions, First-In-Human (FIJ) trials, dosimetry, and receptor occupancy studies related to molecular ligands.
